Terms of Use for AkariPets
Last updated: October 19, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of the AkariPets mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The service
AkariPets is a tool for organizing your pets' information (profiles, vaccines, dewormings, medication, appointments, diagnoses and documents) and receiving reminders. The App also shows general tips and news from external sources. You can share a pet with other people and decide what each of them can do.
Notice about your pets' health
- AkariPets does not provide veterinary services, diagnoses, treatments or medical recommendations.
- The tips and news shown in the App are general information and do not replace an assessment by a vet. News comes from external sources whose content we do not control.
- The medicines, doses, schedules and dates you record are decided by you and your vet. AkariPets only stores them and reminds you of them.
- Reminders depend on your phone (permissions, battery, connection) and may be delayed or not arrive. Do not rely on AkariPets as your only way to remember a treatment.
- If you notice any symptom, have any doubt or face an emergency, see a vet.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your password confidential. Let us know if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
Premium subscription
Some features require a Premium subscription. Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by the app store where you subscribed (Google Play or the App Store) and are governed by its terms. You can cancel the renewal at any time from that store.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App for unlawful purposes, not to try to access other users' data and not to interfere with the operation of the service.
Sharing pets
- You can invite other people with an AkariPets account to view or edit the information of a pet you registered. You decide whom you invite, what each person can do in each section of the medical record and for how long, and you can change it or remove their access at any time.
- Depending on the permissions you give them, invited people can view, add, change or delete the pet's information, including its medical history and attached documents. Each person is responsible for what they record, change or delete. AkariPets does not check that this information is correct.
- You are responsible for choosing whom you invite and for reviewing their permissions. AkariPets is not responsible for changes, mistakes or deletions made by the people you gave access to, nor for any loss of information resulting from them, even though it provides tools to review or recover that information.
- If you accept an invitation, you agree to record information carefully, to use it only for the pet's care and not to share or export it for third parties without the permission of the person who invited you. You can stop having access at any time.
- The person who invites will see the name and email address of the people who join. Invited people will see the name of the person who invited them and of the other members.
- Invitation links, codes and QR codes expire after 7 days and can be used only once. Anyone who has a valid one can use it, so share it only with the person you want to invite.
- Within the App, a pet and its information belong to the account shown as its owner: the one that registered it or the one that received it through a transfer. If that account deletes the pet or is deleted, the information is no longer available to anyone with access, including what they recorded.
- The owner can transfer the pet to a person who already has access to it. When that person accepts, they become the owner in the App, with all its powers, including removing other people's access or deleting the pet. A transfer cannot be undone unless the new owner transfers the pet back. Transferring a pet in the App neither proves nor changes the legal ownership of the animal.
- AkariPets does not take part in disagreements between users about a pet or its information, such as who should have access to it or who should be its owner.
Third-party content and links
The App may show headlines and links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or policies, which are governed by each site's terms.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the App. Your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
The App is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, AkariPets is not liable for damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the App, including reminders that are delayed or do not arrive and changes made by other people in a shared pet.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its update date. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the new version.
